‘Kinkoona’ is Australian Aboriginal
for ‘laughing’. That is what we love to hear. We are Australian and even call the sheep in with a traditional
“Coo-wee”. We currently
have 90 sheep and rotate them through our 48 acres. This allows them to graze throughout the year on high quality pasture
and keeps them healthy. Our sheep are rotated through a variety of lush green pastures. This reduces the need for traditional
wormers and keeps the sheep healthy and happy.
Our flock consists of registered Icelandics, Shetlands, Targhee, Texel/Hampshire Crosses, Columbian and Border
Leicester. Quite a group!
We
are situated in the southern part of Wisconsin in the Amish area and love to have visitors. We even packed up some of the
farm animals and took them to a local Head Start program when they were going to be rained out from their visit here. I think
“Old MacDonald’s Farm” could be renamed “Kinkoona’s Farm”.
Learning, laughter and the chance to take part in our farm
life is very important to us. We home school and want to share it all. Even the chores if you wish!
Come and see us and meet our menagerie of animals,
eat from our organic garden and soak up the laughter at Kinkoona!!!!
